Appellate Practice
LGL handles a diverse range of matters in state and federal appellate courts and has appeared as counsel for its clients before various state and federal appellate tribunals, as well as at the Supreme Court level.
We defend judgments obtained on behalf of our clients, seek review of judgments which may be adverse to our clients, and regularly handle appeals and applications for review for clients who are represented by other counsel at the trial court level.

LGL handles a variety of transactional matters and disputes relative to the purchase, development, and sale of real estate. We have handled complex real estate and commercial project closings and negotiate development agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and various site related agreements related to the real estate development process.
Alternative Dispute Resolution
LGL regularly participates in alternative dispute resolution procedures as is customary in the construction industry. We possess extensive experience in direct and multi-party mediation, including mediations involving parallel fact finding and evidentiary processes. Many of our attorneys also serve as certified mediators and arbitrators and possess significant experience in assisting parties in resolving complex construction matters arising out of disputes.

Fidelity & Surety Law
Our firm provides experienced representation in all facets of surety and fidelity law. We represent clients in connection with all types of bonds, including performance, payment, fidelity and various other miscellaneous surety bonds. Our firm assists owners, contractors and subcontractors with all type of bonding matters. Our firm also has extensive experience in providing complete representation to sureties, including assisting with pre-default investigations, project completion negotiations, ratification and takeover agreements and all facets of default. We provide representation to sureties in indemnification actions from investigation through execution upon judgments obtained on behalf of our clients. Our attorneys have vast experience in the area of fidelity and surety and have written numerous articles and are frequent lecturers on fidelity and surety topics.
Architectural/Engineering Malpractice
Our firm represents all design professionals with respect to licensing issues, contract disputes and allegations of malpractice. We provide experienced and competent representation in assisting design professionals with resolving board complaints and malpractice issues and have provided services to numerous design professionals and firms, successfully defending claims of design malpractice through alternative dispute proceedings and litigation. Additionally, we represent design professionals with respect to all insurance issues related to allegations of professional malpractice.
Public Entity Contracting
Contracting with municipalities, counties, cities and their departments requires a special knowledge of the law pertaining to public entity contracting. Our firm has extensive experience in drafting contracts on behalf of public entities and in assisting contractors in contracting with public entities, including assisting contractors in identifying proper bonding and insurance requirements and properly complying with particular public entity contracting requirements, such as minority participation and disadvantaged business enterprise requirements.
Subrogation Claims
Attorneys in our firm specialize in highly complex subrogation claims particular to the construction industry. We have represented insurers and agents of insurers in pursuing claims against contractors, subcontractors, design professionals and other insurers to recover losses sustained as a result of design defects, construction defects, and various breaches of construction agreements. We provide highly specialized representation in subrogation claims involving complex construction issues, as well as complex building, fuel and regulatory code issues.
